piqe (hereinafter "the Company") values the personal information of its users and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법), the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률), and other relevant Korean legislation. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.
1. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information
The Company collects personal information for the following purposes:
- Account registration and management: email address, display name, profile image, social login identifiers (Google, Apple, Kakao)
- Service provision: artwork uploads, Piqe credit transactions, ranking calculations, notification delivery
- Communication: service announcements, artist invitations, support inquiries
- Service improvement: usage statistics, error logs, device and browser information
- Payment processing (Pro subscription): payment method details, billing history (processed through third-party payment providers)
2. Items of Personal Information Collected
Required: email address, display name, social login identifier
Optional: profile image, artist bio, portfolio links
Automatically collected: IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, access timestamps, cookies, service usage logs
3. Method of Collection
We collect personal information through the following methods:
- Direct input by the user during registration and profile setup
- Automatic collection through cookies and analytics tools
- Information received from third-party social login providers
4. Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
Personal information is retained for the duration of your membership. Upon account deletion, all personal information is destroyed without delay unless retention is required by law:
- Records of contracts or withdrawal of subscriptions — 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Records of payment and supply of goods — 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Records of consumer complaints or dispute resolution — 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Website visit logs — 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
Destruction methods: electronic files are permanently deleted using technical means that prevent recovery; paper documents are shredded or incinerated.
5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company does not provide personal information to third parties without the user's prior consent, except in the following cases:
- When the user has given explicit consent
- When required by law or requested by investigative agencies
- When necessary for payment processing (limited to payment provider and billing data only)
6. Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing
The Company outsources the following tasks and ensures that the service providers comply with personal information protection laws:
- Cloud hosting and database: Supabase (Singapore region)
- Image storage and CDN: Cloudflare
- Email delivery: Resend
- Web hosting: Vercel
- Payment processing: to be determined (Phase 2)
7. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives
Users (and their legal representatives) may exercise the following rights at any time:
- Right to access personal information
- Right to correct inaccurate information
- Right to request deletion of personal information
- Right to request suspension of processing
- Right to withdraw consent

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Company uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain login sessions and analyze service usage. Users may refuse cookies through browser settings, but some features may be limited as a result.

The Company implements the following measures to protect personal information:

- Encryption of passwords and sensitive data at rest

- Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables

Some of our service providers are located outside of Korea. By using piqe, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to servers in the United States and Singapore. We ensure that all international transfers comply with applicable Korean data protection laws and that service providers maintain adequate safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the service at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
