Description

Àṣà means 'custom' or 'tradition' in Yoruba. This painting is a meditation on what tradition looks like when the container changes but the content persists. A field of ultramarine blue interrupted by geometric aso-oke textile motifs in raw umber and gold. Oil and metallic pigment on canvas.
